No need to pay.
On one hand if you invest well then it can give you better returns than 2.5%. On the other if you get poor returns or even losses I think it's quite unreasonable to expect you to pay back

Hi LLy,
Accrued interest only applies to monies used for housing.
I have been investing my OA monies for a while and there was never any accrued interest statement in my CPF until I bought my resale HDB recently; had to use OA to front the downpayment, after which the accrued interest line appeared.
