Is there a preferred exchange that investors use for dual listed stocks?

Hi all, I’ve been interested in owning stocks of Ali baba. However, I’ve realised that they’re dual listed in the US and HK. Is there a preferred one that investors go for? And what are the drawbacks of each? Assuming that I’m in it for the longer term growth.

Thank you!

If you:

  1. Have access to HKEX

  2. Are able to afford the lot size (for Alibaba, it's 100) without overweighting the stock in your portfolio

I would go for the HKEX version of Alibaba.

The differences are quite negligible as far as I know but 1 benefit of taking the HKEX version is of course, no delisting threats/risks.
