Is Palantir a fundamentally strong company?

Palantir Stock Jumped Because Now It’s Working With IBM. But they just IPO-ed last year and have been accused to have "blood on its hands" by civil rights protesters. Any thoughts on this?

It will take a while to unpack whether PLTR is a good company but, addressing your two concerns:

  1. Even though it IPO-ed last year, it has been around since 2003 (18 years), so the IPO date shouldn't really be such a big concern if you're looking long term. What's more important should be what they've been doing over the last 18 years and how their business model and financials are.

  2. Regarding human rights concerns, this is more of a personal choice. Some people won't invest in FB because they feel that FB is unethical or avoiding big oil/weed/tobacco comapanies as they view them as vices. Will it affect the company's performance? Unlikely, since a lot of their contracts are government related anyways so the individual protestors likely won't affect it much.

Personally, I think it is a good company but watch the valuation, a good company at a bad price can be a bad investment.
