I'm on the fence whether I should focus my DIY investment on high dividend stock/ETF on tiger broker/moomoo.
Im looking at a long term horizon hence I quite like the idea of a High Dividend portfolio. However, US dividends are taxed at 30% which hurts quite a bit. SGould I focus on Growth/FAANG stocks instead (buy 1 stock every few months when I set aside enough money)
I am only setting around $50-$100 SGD every month hence I do not have the money to buy SG dividend paying stocks (1 lot usually need min $300)
I also just started to DCA on Syfe REITS (Around $200-$500 every month)

I started buying some US monthly dividend paying stocks earlier in my investing journey for cashflow. The dividend yields were high enough even after the 30% WHT. Nowadays you probably can do the same with some monthly paying unit trusts on FSM.

If you want income stocks, why not just focus on SG stocks?

If you really want the incoming cash, don't focus on the 30% tax. instead think that you will receive 70% of dividends. so factor that in and see whether the nett dividend yield still makes sense to you.

personally prefer auto reinvest dividends, if that is not an option, cash in pocket is better than unrealised gains. imagine i have to liquidate 1 fb share if i want to use money (whether for better opportunity or to pay bills or whatsoever). with dividend stocks, i do not have to sell my original stocks. just let the management do their job to grow the business and dividends forever.

remember you will be always paying tax or fees, one way or another. 30% dividend tax is transparent to you. platform fees, fund managers fees, corporate level tax, etc may not be as transparent (hidden costs).

hope this helps.
