Is it worth it to repair my broken phone screen with a third party service provider before trading it in?

I have an iPhone X. The cost of repairing it at the official apple centre is 488 but a 3rd party repair shop offers it at 127

Usually 3rd party screen replacement cost more than $100 but less than $200.

1) Check trade in price with telco for a non broken set(if that's what you're going with)

2) Check 3rd party shop for screen replacement cost amd the if they takes in 2nd hand phone , ask for the $ you get back if you sell it to them in the current broken conditions.

Compare the 2 where whichever has the highest values and fits the way you want to sell, that's the best way.

Take note that there are different level and skillset of the 3rd party repair, some skills weren't that good and even after repair, it will results in less than the listed trade in price that you sell to telco or 3rd party shop. You can google or ask in shopback for reputable repair shop recommendations.

If after repair selling price still below $200, then might as well keep it for own use or pass to family members who don't mind because it might not be worth it consider that you have to pay for the screen replacement too.

Hope it helps. All the best.
