Is it wise to have a self-love fund for the occasional treat eg clothes, food etc ? If so, which account should I store the funds in ?

Hi all, I would like your opinion on whether it is wise to have a self-love fund. For some context, I invest around 80 to 85% of my salary monthly and basically have very low expenses (around 350 to 400 dollars per month mainly on food). I keep track of my monthly expenses and as far as possible, live way below my means. I seek invest and save aggressively with the ultimate goal of semi-retirement in my mid 30s. So far, I have no big-ticket purchases lined up and the only things that I want to purchase are purely material goods e.g clothes, tech gadgets.

I have seen posts online suggesting having a self-love fund to help in managing the wants portion in one's budgeting. I am considering whether it is wise to have such a fund to help make my financial journey a little but more manageable? If so, should I place it in a high yield savings account e.g Syfe Cash+ or something that gives much higher interest ? My risk appetitite is relatively high. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you !

  • For now u have no liabilities, no commitment.
  • But semi-retire required u to be forward looking
  • Do u foreseen u will get marry, have kids and buy house?
  • If you have already catered in your plan then self love fund should be ok. Is extra $$$.
  • I will go for dividend UT/stocks instead of cash management product. Better returns.

You clearly have a good grasp on your finances so I would say it's up to you. This really depends on...
