Is it true that trading can earn more than investing if used the right strategies? Else why would people trade?

Has anyone backtested and proven trading can earn more than investing? Thank you.

Yes I would agree with that (better returns from trading), but it takes a disciplined approach and good understanding of technicals to know what stock to buy, when to buy it and also when to sell. Sounds simple enough but the actual process is more complicated than that (knowledge of technical knowledge, position sizing and risk reward). And also need to strengthen trading psychology above all.
