Is it still possible to negotiate salary after my final interview? Not sure about when to do this as I'm a fresh grad and this is my first job.

Received this email after my interview with them.

Hi Anon,

We are pleased to offer you the role of XXX at Company.

Here is our offer for your consideration:

  1. Monthly Salary: $XXXX

Wondering if I can nego my salary right now? Or is it too late?

The answer is yes, as long as you are feeling comfortable from the interview sessions that you are the absolute one that can offer them the security of delivering the job.

In my case, I ACCEPTED an offer company A with an xxx compensation package, and then another company B came back to me with a higher offer (without me staging it). I knew I wanted A badly to grow my career, so I went back to A with the screenshot of B (without revealing B). I told them in a tactful way that I sincerely love the team but there's a higher compensation package offered, and if they can match up to it.

So they did. I was convinced to do this because I have an offer from B to prove to A on my worth, and I knew that I have to voice this as my right to get the best compensation package before moving into a job and feeling shortchanged.

If you feel low balled best to settle this now else you’ll never get the chance later. But try to come across as you’re asking for a “market adjustment” after doing your own research as opposed to feeling low balled. And if HR can’t up the offer, you’ll have to ask yourself if you’ll be contented with this amount or if you’re willing to wait for the next job offer.

All the best in your decision and welcome to the work force!

I guess dollars n cents are more negotiable, other terms are likely to be standard and not gonna cha...
