Is it possible to solely rely on your children for retirement if they are really obedient?
Let's say you have 3 children, and they give you a fixed amount of allowance to you every month, which is enough for you and your spouse to cover all your daily basic necessities.

I would plan to be self sustainable, and treat my kids' allowance to me as a bonus contribution and not a 'must-have'.
It may be possible for them to financially cover all our retiring expenses... but I don't think it's a good idea to solely rely on them, as they may have their own commitments too. I wouldn't want my kids to be burdened to support me 😅
