Is it possible to solely rely on your children for retirement if they are really obedient?

Let's say you have 3 children, and they give you a fixed amount of allowance to you every month, which is enough for you and your spouse to cover all your daily basic necessities.

That is provided that they have the financial abilities.

I would plan to be self sustainable, and treat my kids' allowance to me as a bonus contribution and not a 'must-have'.

It may be possible for them to financially cover all our retiring expenses... but I don't think it's a good idea to solely rely on them, as they may have their own commitments too. I wouldn't want my kids to be burdened to support me πŸ˜…

Never push the financial burder to your children. We should strive to become the last sandwich generation of our time.
