UPDATES:
I got a full refund to my grabpay card in just 1 day! Tuesday morning. Wow this is really efficient π²π
Had a flight for this Friday (20th Mar) to Jakarta and did the following on Sunday night:
Submitted the SQ online cancellation form
Dropped an email to their social media team
Called the hotline and was on the line for 2 hours (eventually hung up bc the wait was too long)
Eventually on Monday morning someone from the SQ team called me (i'm not sure which of the 3 methods made them call me), and she said she could change my flights for me to a later date for free but I told her that I couldn't do a flight change due the uncertainty. And that due to the new SHN notice on all ASEAN flights, I can no longer do the flight this weekend, so she said she could do a waiver of the cancellation fees for me but it would take 4-6 weeks.
I haven't received any refund confirmation email so I have no idea if it's really a full refund but my booking no longer exists when i attempt to "Manage booking".βββ

UPDATE 2: I got 2 of my 3 flights successfully refunded (they reversed the transaction on my credit card) a few weeks after I submitted the form on their website. Impressed by the efficiency, and more so by their decision to do it β I understand other airlines are doing the same thing too, but it's a decision that essentially throws their very existence into question.
UPDATE: I contacted SQ through their online form to ask about a refund for my flight to Jakarta next month (which was incidentally rescheduled by SQ due to them cancelling some flights). I was told I can't get a full refund because of my ticket conditions, and that I'd only get back the unused government and airport taxes. They did, however, offer to rebook my flight to a future date. Not sure what I'm getting wrong π€
Called SQ's help centre a while ago to enquire about my booking to Bali later this week β they made it quite clear that a full refund was not an option, and the cancellation fee would be deducted from my refund (which means I'd get back $70 on a $240 ticket). Got the rebooking instead, which means my ticket is open for use anytime until 31st March 2021.
Unfortunately, I still have 2 (significantly more expensive) confirmed SQ flights to cancel, so I'm hoping someone else answers with tips on how to get a full refund!βββ
