KLSE was my first market for investment and returns I got are definitely higher than SGX. So for myself, the returns in MYR are for spending there. This can include weekly groceries, holidays, food, etc. With the pandemic, I shifted some to funds (SGD and USD) which can be used for local spending in the future.

I think exchange rate is definitely a concern for all overseas market. Since the returns for me are used to spend in M'sia, it isnt a real concern for myself. Professional investors use hedging such as futures contract to lower the forex risk. For an everyday investor, I feel it is best to invest in a market where you feel have good future prospects.
