Is investing in the S&P 500 still a good choice?

Seeing how only a handful of the large-cap companies are profitable and pulling the index up while the majority of the other companies are not doing well. is the S&P 500 still a good investment?

I'm still a beginner so I would love to hear what more experienced investors feel

Yes, it is. You can also diversify by investing in other countries such as Singapore, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, etc.
