Is flip/calmshell phone still worth buying in SG?

As I'm about to enter my BMT confinement week, I've being noting some things regarding the conventional flip or calmshell phone. As I'm trying to get rid of my small addiction of constantly looking at my social media, I'm looking into getting a flip phone from the past, but with the concerns of it being obsolete due to 4G/5G, is it still worth getting it to use for calling, WhatsApp and telegram for communication purposes?

Its called clamshell btw. cause it opens and closes somewhat like a clam.
