Is AIA Platinum Retirement Elite Version 1.0 good? Plan goes with the AIA Elite Adventurous Fund.

Planning to do a lump sump investment. This policy seems quite good. Fees for lump sump are 5% upfront and 0.5%pa for the first 5 policy years and that's it no more fees for life!

But the fund inception late 2019, with a 22% growth since inception. So average about 20% through 2020. It is submanaged by Blackrock, Baillie and Wellington. Worried this fund only did well due to the post covid bull and might not subsequently.

Appreciate the advice. Thank you.

Super long term hold, 30yrs, >20k.

Many have touched on the relatively higher cost of ILP, which is inevitable due to additional layers of insurance overheads. The only reason I would invest via ILP is access to funds not available to retail investors thru unit trust platforms. The 3 strategic partners are all reputable fund houses, particularly Baillie Gifford who has impressive track records in some funds which consistently achieving double-digit annualized returns.
