Everyone's got different starting point and family background so it can be quite different. What I've learnt is to just compare with yourself from the yesteryears. Have your own financial goals and work towards it. How much others earn or lose is just a distraction from your own targets.

If you'd like a challenge, you can look at warren buffet's networth chart over the years.
