Investing T-Bill using CPF OA

Is it worth investing into T-Bill using fund from OA? How to calculate the potential interest earn compared to losing the 2-month of interest from OA? Anyone can share how the interest from OA is computed?

  • CPFOA: $1000 × 2.5% / 12 mth = $2.083 Per mth or $25 per year.
  • If Tbill cut off yield = $97.058
  • Interest from tbill= 1000- 970.58= $29.42

  • Net interest gain = $29.42 - $25 = $4.42.

  • Account for 2 mth loss. $2.083 x 14 = $29.12
  • You still get $29.42- $29.12 =$0.03 per $1000 invested. Have not factor transaction fee..

  • Thus i think not worth to buy T-bill now.
