Elon is doing that because like what he mentioned in his tweet, he dont earn a cash salary or bonus like us. But his remuneration is in terms of stock options which allows him to buy tesla stocks at a very discounted price. Hence selling 10% at current price n converting his expiring share options into shares is a too good deal to miss for him.

To be honest, a price drop is an advantage for long term investors with conviction in Tesla. While others are panick selling, you get to load up more for the long term gains.
If you find yourself losing sleep over potential short term declines, you definitely do not have sufficient conviction in Tesla (which could stem from a lack of due diligence).
