Im looking at the balance sheet of a company report.. but idk what does amortization mean. can any1 help?

The easiest layman term I can think of for amortization is INSTALLMENTS.

Imagine you buy a very expensive curved screen TV, and you choose to pay in installments over few years. Amortization is similar.
