Hi anon,

Are you referring to the RSP allocation? If so, that'll change the amount you put into each fund monthly.

Thus if you are putting $1000/mth with a 50/50 split between fund A/B, changing it to 80/20 split means more is going into Fund A than Fund B.

If you are referring to the current allocation, that's more of a rebalancing. So if you had a 80/20 split and change it to 50/50, you'd sell off more Fund A to buy Fund B.

We need to know whether what type of changes you are making.

For ad-hoc fund switch, it is usually one-time only. Therefore, it will not affect future allocation.

For change of allocation for future premium, the change will take effect for all future contribution.
