Since financial literacy is such an important thing in surviving adulthood, why aren't we teaching it in schools? Shouldn't there be a greater emphasis on this since it's such an important skill? What's stopping this from becoming a mainstream subject?

Schools are responsible for giving the students a basic foundation across various subjects. Unfortunately, financial literacy doesn't fit into one of the selected subjects.
But yes, I agree that financial literacy is a very important life topic.
