I've always been an iPhone user as I like their products and the overall user experience. But after finding out how much the new iPhone 12 will cost, I'm wondering if it's still worth paying for?

Would you always buy an Apple product regardless of how expensive it might be or would the price be a big enough factor to push you to switch to a different, slightly more affordable brand like Samsung?

The iPhone provides familiarity and a really good user experience that creates incredible stickiness and the entire Apple user journey even before you become a customer really grows brand loyalty. It’s probably one of the reasons why Apple is a trillion dollar company.

I would buy Apple products for as long as the user experience is prioritised and makes sense for me. The ecosystem of products and services they offer also needs to improve or minimally remain as user friendly and intuitive.

I have opted for an Android phone when I felt I wanted to be more prudent about spending and regretted that 1 -2 years I was using it. I’d rather spend more on the iPhone and keep it in good condition to use it for 3 years or more. The key thing to note was I could have afforded the iPhone model then. I think that’s a reason why I had buyers remorse on the Android phone.

I wouldn’t get the 12 as my current XR I got 2 years ago is still functioning well and in good condition. It’s supported by updates and I don’t have any major issues with my phone. I reckon I could use this phone at least for another 2 years.

Hey Anon!

I guess this really does depend on your personal preference for Apple products.

Based on the theory of innovation diffusion, which is a theory that seeks to explain how, why, and at what rate new ideas and technology spread.

I would think that the 2.5% of Innovators would almost always think that the Apple products are worth its price. Following which, some of the 13.5% of early adopters might agree as well.

It definitely depends on what your priorities are when it comes to choosing a phone from the displays, to the camera, to the batteries.

In case you didn’t know, you can actually head over to the Apple website to compare across the different iPhone models for the various product specifications. Here’s just the 'Quick Look' version across the iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini.

To answer your question, personally, I am a late majority kind of person, so I wouldn’t jump on this bandwagon anytime soon. The price is definitely a big factor for me, so I would usually settle for an older Apple model at a more affordable price.
