Company A - Good work life balance/culture. Average pay. Learning scope quite limited. Not branded firm, mid size firm. Not the ideal job scope that i wanted, but i am still quite interested in the role.

Company B - Known for poor working culture (working OT almost everyday). Pay is slightly better (2-3 months more in annual performance bonus). Great career prospect. Has a big brand name. Will be good for resume. Interesting project.

I am currently more inclined to joining Company A, as i prefer more work life balance and i probably wont be happy working in Company B. Can i have some advices? Thanks.

It all depends on your priority, stage in life and responsibilities you have.

Question to ask yourself: "Is work simply a source of income? Or is work a platform that you wish to grow and develop your skills." If work is purely to keep you occupied from 9am to 6pm every weekday, then Company A.
β
However, if you seek to achieve more from work, Company B might be a better choice. Company A doesn't offer the ideal job scope for you, so you may not entirely be happy in Company A though, just maybe less unhappy. Think of the time when you're forced to do something you dislike v.s. something you enjoyed, I'm sure you will recall the stark difference in how time passes.

Personal Thoughts
Granted Company A seems more comfortable and I'd have more personal time to upskill myself whatsoever. However, I foresee myself getting bored in Company A faster as opposed to Company B due to the limited learning scope. And in the event I would like to jump, I may face difficulties especially with the non-brandedness and internal transfers may be tough with the limited roles available due to it being a mid-sized firm. Thus I would consider heading to Company B, work on the project, request for internal or even overseas transfer if I ever get bored of the dept / role.

Aside from company culture, consider which hiring manager could you vibe with better, as vision and alignment within a team is important for personal growth. And if your manager appreciates you, money and progression comes naturally thereafter.
People rarely join companies for life these days. Focus on the role you want in 3-5 years from now and see which role today can help better prepare for that future role.

Go for A. Money is not as important as mental and physical well-being. OT does not just cost you you...

My job alot of OT, which is almost every day. Weekend you also have to come in to OT too. This circle repeat after 12days. This sound like what TS's mentioned in company B. I'm executive level, pay wise which included OT, can on par to project engineer level. But no work life balance. Currently, I really sick of this life style.
