4% is indeed attractive, and you can retain most of it if you choose the basic plan. If you are fine with accepting a lower CPF Life payout,

What's your current age?

An older friend suggested pledging FRS at 55 first (so as not to lock the money or something like that?).

Then at age 65 (or whenever you want to start CPF Life payout), then you pledge to ERS.
