I'm starting out my investments and currently planning my portfolio and exploring the following: 1) Fixed Deposits 2) Stock index ETFs & REIT ETFs via RSP. Is this advisable?

Will it be advisable to get ETFs now in this volatile period? If yes, will Lion Phillip REIP and SPDR STI ETF be advisable or are there any others that's recommended? Thanks!

One feedback is that your portfolio is Singapore-centric. Even though the ETFs are broad based, there is some overlap. Please be aware of that.

You may also want to look at overseas markets, if you are comfortable with the forex risk or when you are more confident in investing.

In terms of the timing, it’s probably good to start now since the market has fallen sharply. But to time the bottom, no one knows.
