I have gout in 2011 and my agent proposed to me GE Supreme Early Multiplier plan saying that it can cover my gout or any related illnesses. But then he said that GE hospital plan won't cover gout.?

Is it true that GE is the only company that can cover gout for Whole Life plan? Which plan can cover for my gout and if I am cleared of my gout in few years time, can I still buy critical illness plan?

Hi there,

It depends on the severity of your current condition, and whether any medical treatment is done to remedy the condition. All insurers will take account your factors during the time of application.

ISPs might have an exclusion, due to the more stringent requirements with regards to hospitalisation. You can check with other insurers, to ensure that you have the full picture before committing to any long term plan.

Hope i was able to shed some insight!

Hey there!

There are plans out there that cover for gout eg. AIA Power Critical Cover. But if this is a pre-existing condition, you may have to submit an application for it to see what the underwriting results is. It may either come with an exclusion, loading (marked up premiums) or a rejection completely.
