The $150k lump sum is the excess of another loan taken, with an effective interest rate of 2.5%. Hence I'm looking at something with 3-5% returns. I'm a 30-yo working adult :-]

If you are going for stock market investing, dont invest lumpsum.
Use DCA buy every month to average out the price of the stock.
Buying mutual funds is a good place to park your money :)
