I don't like what I'm doing but I'm also worried that I can't get a job during a difficult time like this.

Hi Anon,
Being stuck in a job that you don’t enjoy is tough especially since that’s how we spend the bulk of our time for the week.
The job market right now isn’t looking good as companies and businesses are struggling with operations, which might then lead to cost-cutting measures such as a hiring freeze, salary freeze, or even retrenchment.
My biggest advice is to not throw the letter before securing another job especially during a difficult period like this. With economists and analysts predicting that we are likely to experience a recession in 2020, you really want to avoid having to worry about not having a steady monthly income or being unable to meet your basic daily spending needs. If you have no or insufficient emergency funds, it is highly crucial that you secure a new job offer before resigning from your current job.
You can still look for a new job. Don’t stop sending your resumes and don’t stop applying for jobs that you are interested in because when you don’t take any action, that’s when you have zero chance of getting what you want completely.
The job market is bad now but I believe that employers will still hire if they need people to fill up roles in order to grow, expand or maintain basic operations.
Hope this helps!
