I bought 2 hospital insurance plans for my 2 kids (aged 5 & 4) years . Is it necessary for kids to have a hospital insurance plan?

Should I cancel their plan and let them buy their own insurance when they grow up?

Hospitalisation plans are suitable for all ages since anything can happen to us (hidden illness, etc). Keep, and pass the ownership (and payment responsibilities) to them when they are independent.

Hi there,

You might want to consider why you bought the plans in the first place and why you are thinking of cancelling it. The question isn't just whether you should let them buy their own. It's if they are even able to get it if something happens to them. Hospital plans do form the most basic form of insurance for your children because they ensure they have a form of coverage and continue to do so without risking their insurability in the future.

Please keep them. Hospitalisation insurance is important for anyone as anyone may get hospitalised. ...
