Assuming you have to invest your CPF funds, what would you invest it in and why (since it's CPF, it'll be for a long time horizon)?

For CPF funds, you would only invest it if you are relatively confident of getting a better return that the 2.5% p.a. via OA / 4% p.a. via SA.
Personally, I'm pretty content with the 4% p.a. from my SA and would think of it as a relatively risk-free bond allocation.
Stocks have a high probability of beating 2.5% p.a. over the longer-term, so that's what I would focus on for the OA account. Of course, it would be prudent to set aside what you would need to pay for housing first, and investing the residual with this longer-term mindset.
The full list of eligible investments for your CPF Investment Account can be found in this link. https://www.cpf.gov.sg/Assets/members/Documents...
From there, I would shortlist the following for consideration:
SPDR Straits Times Index ETF
SGX-listed eligible stocks that you are most convicted about (https://www.sgx.com/securities/stocks-under-cpf...)
Unit Trusts (Schroder Asian Growth, Fidelity Emerging Market, Schroder International Selection Greater China, Fidelity Greater China are some of the funds that screened positively in terms of track record and cost-efficiency. (https://theinvestquest.com/ultimate-list-of-mut...)
Endowus (you can buy some of the mutual funds more cheaply there, as you may get access to a cheaper "institutional fund share class", and will also be rebated on any fees that Endowus receives from the various fund houses)
