How would you advice a new investor with $1-2K sum to invest in the stock market? Are there any particular type of stock you would recommend?

If you were to start your investment journey from scratch today, what are some stock you will pick up?

Hey there!

I would definitely start with tech stocks, but this should depend on what you're most comfortable with and what you're most able to understand. After all, when starting out, you should always try to stick within your circle of competence so that you invest in a company whose business you're able to understand and analyse accordingly. You can also focus on local stocks since we should be able to understand them better too! Personally, stocks I'm picking up right now are Sea and Grab (AGC) since they're Singapore businesses and are tech stocks that are listed in the US (more liquidity) :)

Cheers!
