I have a card nearing to 1 year of usage (the first year annual fee waiver is coming to an end), and I expect the annual fee to be charged.
May I know if I should request for the fee waiver AFTER the annual fee has been charged to my credit card or do I have to request for a waiver BEFORE the annual fee is charged?
Thank you!

The bank I used to work at would automatically (yes, it was done automatically) waive the credit card fee upon request, regardless of when it was requested. It costs them more to dispute the request and risk losing the customer.

Request waiver AFTER charges, if the bank denies (some bank do denies annual fee waiver) you can just close the card (annual fee will not be charged)
