Hi,
l am looking to buy Hongkong Land Holdings Limited Via DBS Vickers, However, l understand that H78 is in US Currency instead of SGD. Do l have to use DBS Multiplier to convert SGD to USD before l make the purchase?
If so, is the FX spread reasonable? Or is there other brokers that would be more suitable for US denominated stocks listed in SGX?

You can just buy. But your brokerage willl auto convert the USD to SGD and priced it for you in your contract. You cant use your DBS multiplier to offset the USD etc.
The FX for foreign demonitaed conversion in Singapore brokerages is very unreasonable, but they hold a monopoly, so what can we do. That is why I prefer using foreign brokerages for anything foriegn related stocks

Hi Anon,
You just have to make sure you have sufficient SGD equivalent in your brokerage account. ...

I had the same issue with Manulife reit. I chose to settle in sgd and the brokerage (Maybank Ke in my case) converted into USD for me for the purchase. Think the fx rate is not bad as compared to dbs.
