Single's approach - rope in another friend and buy under his/her name

standard couple's approach - sell off HDB (if you own a HDB), buy EC, de-couple (meaning only you or your spouse takes full ownership, buy second property under the other person's name

desperate approach - divorce if you're married.

the actual term is called additional buyer stamp duty btw, in case you're gonna google for more professional opinions on this.
