My wife and I spent about $2000/mth.
$1000 mortgage
$300 bills
$700 transport, food
Total income $7200 after CPF
We constantly feel that it is very important to save money while we are young. But at the same time, we are trying to strike a balance between saving and enjoying life.
Do you set aside a portion of money where you spend on things that you enjoy?

Haha me alone spending $3k/mth!
Remember to include insurance too.
I have my monthly subscriptions - entertainment, gym, supplements.
I also have my monthly beauty appointments. Husband says it's a waste of money but I always feel facial + laser is sooooooo important but well, to each his own! Luckily I don't spend crazy amounts on makeup stuffs haha.
I set aside $200/mth for yearly holidays but I realized I've been overspending in this area (excluding last year because covid :')) Enjoying life before kid(s) come along XD
Always good to have set aside maybe $1-200 for mindless spending. For me it could me my bbt/ dessert spending or really just on things that catches my eye and I just gotta buy it!
In any case, don't worry about over saving! Unless you're not making your money work for you because bank interest rates are low now. When your family expands, you'll thank yourself for having a good saving habit, something which I'm struggling till today! (Hence I have a mini side hustle to support my random excessive spending sometime hahahaha)
