How is Rolls-Royce doing well in this pandemic? The demand for the bonds has been strong and Rolls will increase the size of the bond issue from £1bn to £2bn...?

As you have mentioned, the issuance of the bonds by rolls royce caused the sudden increase in share price. due to the nature of the business, if they do not pivot, the increase is not likely to be sustainable.
