Just started working and realised that I need to pay taxes. Saw a chart but don't really understand what it means, if my annual income is 45000 before CPF, how much tax do I pay?

If your annual income is $45 000 before cpf, your chargeable income will be $35 000 (after $9000 cpf relief, $1000 earned income relief and assuming no any relief). The first $30000 will attract a tax of $200 and the next $5000 will attract a tax rate of 3.5% which is $175. Total tax payable is $375.
