How does a REIT have Negative Earnings-Per-Share yet continue to pay Dividends?

Doing some research on Singapore REITS today. I see that popular Capita and Mapletree REITS have positive EPS while a high yield REIT like Cache is having negative EPS.

Usually short term. They could have cash assets or get the money from debt.
