I use this excel sheet by this lady from Europe. Althought the currency is in Euro, you can easily change it to SGD and it works just as fine.

What I like about it is she categorises the expenses into fixed and non-fixed, so it gives you clarity on where to cut (if necessary).
Also, you're not restricted to how you want to name your expense category.
e.g. If you take probotics regularly (assume you only take probiotics as supplement and no other supplement), you can even customise the category as "ABC probiotics".

Hi anon, this is a Google sheet I created to track my finances. You may click 'File' -- 'Make a copy' and save it to your drive and have a go at it:

It is based on T. Harv Eker's JARS money management system from his book _Secrets of the Millionaire Mind. _I have experimented and found this method to be most useful, it gives me foresight to be able to change future habits, instead of simply tracking my expenses and obtaining hindsight. I've found that this method allows me the freedom to spend within my means, and while it works on setting budgets, it is not too restrictive because of the types of categories introduced.
Having said that, one is of course able to edit the types and number of categories, as well as the percentages allocated to each category. This is of course only one method, but hope it helps in a little way!
