I'm sure like many of you, COVID-19 has been a strange time, but also alot of time to think and ideate on how the future will look like.

Our Circuit Breaker lasted 2 months (so far)

According to studies, on average, it takes more than 2 months before a new behavior becomes automatic β€” 66 days to be exact. And how long it takes a new habit to form can vary widely depending on the behavior, the person, and the circumstances.

While it's purely speculation, here are some thoughts and ideas on how things could potentially change moving forward (my perspective only, interested to hear the community's!)

1) LIVE

  • Relationships are evolving (do people value things differently now?)

  • People are feeling like they have different ways to interact with each other for social acceptance

  • Do we really need to go to malls to encourage consumerism or are we ok to live with what we have?

  • Do we really need to dine out at restaurants or are we ok to just eat at home with family?

  • Will people only go out to exercise and get a breath of fresh air and focus more on health?

2) WORK

  • This is the most obvious one, people are starting to question the role of the office

  • Do we really need a place to work to gather for meetings?

  • Or is working from home and online meetings the new ideal?

  • Is remote working from anywhere in the world possible?

  • Do skills become more distributed as well, where the fundamental idea of employment changes?

3) PLAY

  • Entertainment seems to be drastically changing

  • Online games, MMORPGs (like Animal Crossing) and COD Warzone (Battle Royale) with social elements

  • Online concerts (cue Fortnite Travis Scott), DJs (Zouk Online, Parties)

  • Do you need to go to the cinemas to consume long form video content? (vs Netflix releases)

Underpinning some of these questions are also ideas of the economy, health and relatioships which are again drastically changing.

Very interesting as we go through this phase, but also very open to hear what other people think as well :)
