How do you switch industry as a fresh graduate if you realise what you studied as degree is not for you?

I studied computer science and I am about to graduate in a month. I realised the skills I learnt from my private degree is very limited and I do not intend to pursue computer science related jobs. I do not have any prior experience. Are there any fresh entry jobs I can pursue? Aside from financial advisor. I don’t mind learning from scratch as long as the company is willing to teach. I am currently interested in investment but no experience too.

First of alll, it takes a lot of courage to acknowledge that your degree is not the right career path for you. Many don't want to waste the "sunk cost" and end up in careers they hate.

Here are some things you can consider:

Traineeships / Post-Graduation Internships

You can try applying for SGUnited Traineeships as employers tend to be more willing to train trainees. Alternatively, consider a post-graduation internship to gain experience.

Build your portfolio

This is the #1 way to get into an industry / job function you have 0 experience in. A portfolio shows the employer that you have the passion, inclination and commitment to dedicate time to develop the skillsets needed.

You also prove that you can do the job - even without studying a relevant degree or having prior experience. And that's a critical factor employers look for - whether you can deliver on the job.
