One or more of the following

  1. It’s abundantly clear your current job is not going to get any better

  2. Your quality of life is rubbish

  3. The stress you take home from work is so bad it is affecting your personal relationships

  4. Your kids don’t care if you’re home or not

  5. Your physical health is really suffering

  6. You’ve been meditating on the situation for a long time and it’s clear that leaving is the only way to better your life, come what may

When it affects your daily life. for e.g. finding it hard to get out of bed, when you dont enjoy your usually daily activities, feeling anxious or nervious about work after working hours. when the work place is toxic - bullying, harassment, discrimination. if possible, take a break to care for your psychological health, then find another job when ready.

When you dread going to work everyday, when it's difficult to get out of bed, when the hours at work slow to a crawl, when your life seems dreary and devoid of joy.

If you are just starting out, prioritise learning opportunities and career progression. Remember that we all have limited time and I would argue in some cases the wise use of your time can be more valuable than a large paycheck.

If you feel "stuck" and dejected at your current job, try looking out for other opportunities for a start. Sometimes, just knowing what other opportunities are out there and upskilling yourself will make you ready to leave.

As with all professionals, always adopt a positive mindset. Just because a job is not for you does not mean you should feel negative about it. Look forward and as such, don't even try to reach your "breaking point". Leave when you think you can go somewhere else which gives you higher and higher "points" of satisfaction and self improvement.
