How do you guys have a balance between social life and saving money?

Spending more money does not mean that you have a better social life.

Spending within means and maybe can consider doing other activities

Still allocate a portion of your savings (say 10%) to your ANYHOW spend fund. That fund is to use for anything that you want, not what your needs.

For me I always look out for good deals like credit card promotions, websites like eatigo. End of the day is to try to stretch the dollar and still have good quality time with our loved ones within our allocated budget for the month.
