How do you get the fact of inflation guideline?

Some say 2%, some estimated 3%? And I try to look online, I even found the negative inflation rate.

There are generally two kinds of inflation, core and general inflation. What we see on the news is usually about general inflation.

2%p.a. is a good indicator of core inflation.
