How do insurance companies provide support to their clients in the event of retrenchment? What kind of plans/policies do the companies have to do it? (Can provide examples if possible!)

Some insurance policies have a retrenchment benefit, which provide a small payout or deferment / waiver of premiums for a short time period (e.g. up to 6 months).

Do treat it as an added benefit and not the reason to get an insurance plan tho, since typically the retrenchemnt benefit may only be exercised once per policy.
