How do I get the most value out of my miles? Any essential tips or tricks?

Miles noob here. Pretty much jumped into the miles game when scb launched their x card and just happened to have wedding spending at the right time. So now that I’ve accumulated some miles, how do I make the most value out of it? Would appreciate it if someone can point me in the right direction or reading material :) thanks

Book Saver award flights on Singapore Airlines or any other airlines you convert to. Saverflights are of the same sat class as normal flights but they cost less. However, there is a waitlist for popular flights which means its not neccessarily you buy and get.

As everyone else have mentioned, always redeem for first or business class. Also redeem for the "right" business class configuration.

You may also want to do some homework on sweetspots in airlines' miles redemption - e.g. a 11 hour flight to NZ will cost less than a 11 hour flight to Europe in SQ miles. It all boils down to how much you value the base flight, i.e how much would you pay if you had to pay for the flight in cash.
