If your risk tolerance allows, investing in an equity portfolio, in the long run, will generally beat the 2.5% of CPF OA. SA is more restrictive and hard to invest. 2.5% is really easy to beat with good equity funds. US equity performs 8%pa over the last 10 years. Unfortunately, most people lose money because they try to time the market, and our human psychology will usually end up buying high and selling low, if we let our emotions get in the way, which is the case for most people. If you are like most people, then better don't invest your CPF money and be contented with 2.5%pa

I invested in funds via insurance using cpf slightly more than 15 yrs ago. Did better than OA 2.5%, ard 3.5-4%. Now with more options like endowus, might try it out.
