Hi, I'm going to cancel my citibank rewards visa. What will happen to my points accumulated from this card?

Do I need to transfer my credit card points out before I cancel the card? or will it be automatic? If it's the former, how do I go about doing this?

For Citibank rewards visa, the points is cancelled along with your credit card termination. To prevent this from happening, simply go to the citibanks reward credit card page, redeem points, wait for a few days for the redemption to take place, then proceed to terminate the credit card

Hi anon,

Make sure you transfer all points out. It's not automatic. You can log in to the Citi bank rewards portal to do so. Do some research on what you'd want to redeem for first.

Also, make sure your points are received on the other side before cancelling the card! It can take a few days to show up, so please don't pull the trigger on the card till then.
