Hi Jasper, as a student I believe you do not have a salary like myself. So we are actually unable to apply for credit cards as there is a min. salary requirement. With an exception of some for example, Live Fresh Student Card and CIMB AWSM Card which are credit cards meant for students.
With that being said, you can actually apply for debit cards. I would recommend you applying for the Standard Chartered Debit Card that comes with the JumpStart account as it gives 1% cashback on all your spendings without any min. spending requirement. Also, DBS Visa Debit Card would be a good choice too as it give 3% cashback but you have to spend a min. of $500 monthly which is a bit hard for students to achieve unless your expenditure is quite high.
Btw, you can look into Singlife for your savings as it gives a non-guaranteed 2.5%pa interest rates on your balance for up to your first 10k. Singlife gives the best interest rate out there right now.

Another alternative would be to go with the Maybank eVibes credit card for a fuss free experience with the benefit of 1% cashback.
As for charges and fees, you don't have to pay any service fees if you use the card at least 1x every quarter.
Do take note that as a credit card, remember to pay off your outstanding balance every month or you will be charged with a very high interest rate upwards of 25% (usually 20% for credit cards).
