Hi, I have 2 more years of university to go (graduating in 2023). Based on my calculations (assuming no income for the next 1.5- 2 years), when should I invest into CSPX? I can only afford 5units.

I just bought one at 449 (at all time high). Should I buy 1 unit every 3 months? Or should I go all on this month? I know timing the marketing is impossible but I am aiming to buy at a correction as I heard the crash is imminent.

Hi Christopher,

I totally understand your thinking. What you need to decide first is what is your intention for this money. Is it for long term growth? Or is it for some hopeful short term gains?

If it's long term growth, then ask yourself this: does this 2k USD make a significant impact in your long term investment portfolio? The answer is probably not. This is going to be but a fraction of your total portfolio size in the future. If that's the case, is it really worth fretting over?

Everyone will preach that a crash is coming and eventually, they will be right and it will come. But the issue becomes how much the market would've grown until the crash comes. Can the crash still be considered a crash if the price ends up being higher than the price today?

I know it's hard and I struggled with the same thinking as you. But the reality is that investing all of your money today will definitely guarantee you long term returns, and waiting another few months will not guarantee any higher returns.

Hope this helps!

Regards,
