Honestly, I think it varies from company to company and by then, what matters more would be the importance of having you as an full-time employee. Not everyone has the chance to convert. So perhaps you may ask towards your position of contribution and how to work from there, that's where you find yourself a better bargaining power for the salary. All the best!

Pitch for normal salary range as they will surely go lower. No need to handicap yourself right off the bat. Just be tactful and explain your reasonings then I'm sure they'll understand.
